A common question about teenagers' behavior is why they enjoy consuming and undergoing the influence of alcohol. Up to this date there is no single reason why, but there are many factors, issues, and influences behind the behavior of teenage alcohol use.
An example of these factors would be the influence of other people. Teens would see their parents or fellow peers drinking which would make them curious in trying this and make them think it is a normal teenage experience. Friends would also force or urge fellow peers in to trying this. Another example would be instant gratification. Some teenagers use alcohol because they see it as a short term key to happiness.
With all these said, it is important we know the negative effects of alcohol to our body. Alcohol could slow down our immune systems making us prone to illnesses. Alcohol abuse would also hinder the production of new bones in our body putting one at risk of osteoporosis and bone fractures. Heavy drinkers are more likely to experience heart problems such as; heart attack, stroke, high blood pressure and more. Alcohol also changes behavior. Long term use shrinks the frontal lobes of the brain leading to dependency to alcohol. We should all be aware of these negative effects in order to live a happier and healthy life.
